Calidad de vida en mujeres diagnosticadas con VIH y en tratamiento antirretroviral

Resumen

Antecedentes: el VIH es una enfermedad crónica que afecta la calidad de vida de sus portadores, está condicionada por factores personales, clínicos y sociales. Para su estudio se han desarrollado herramientas que evalúan estas variables.

Objetivo: identificar los factores que influyen en la calidad de vida de las mujeres con VIH en tratamiento antirretroviral del Hospital Enrique Garcés.

Materiales y métodos: estudio observacional, analítico y transversal realizado en el período 2021-2022. Para conocer la calidad de vida se empleó el cuestionario WHOQOL-HIV BREF que incluye la percepción de la calidad de vida, la percepción de la salud y 6 dominios. Además, se recopilaron datos sociodemográficos y clínicos.

Resultados: participaron 184 pacientes, el 48,9% tuvo una percepción de buena calidad de vida y 53,8% un estado de salud percibido como bueno. El dominio salud física tuvo el promedio más alto. Las variables relacionadas con cambios en la calidad de vida fueron: edad, estado civil, trabajo, sintomatología; esta última fue el prinicipal factor de riesgo para una mala calidad de vida.

Conclusión: las pacientes con tratamiento antirretroviral tienen una buena calidad de vida en la mayoría de dominios. Sin embargo, las variables del entorno social siguen siendo las mas problemáticas por los estigmas que se mantienen.
